Part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, Hotel EMC2 celebrates the intersection of art and science. The project includes 195 guestrooms, 2000 SF of conference space and a 120-seat contemporary American restaurant, the Albert. The architecture reflects KOO’s interest in the graphic qualities of the skin. The façade at the base of the tower includes stainless steel panels in three colors that mimic isometric cube graphics extending the diagonal building structure exposed at the terrace. The tower façade is a painted metal panel rainscreen that deploys a diagonally oriented, large scale pattern to contrast the repetitive hotel room module.

KOO was not only the AOR for this project, but also directed the the brand strategy and created the design concept for the interiors. The interior design was a successful collaboration between KOO and Rockwell Group.
